Abstract
Objective: To compares the impact of health education through teachers and mothers on the promotion of health behaviors among students.
Methodology: The sample size (n= 43) collected randomly allocated in intervention and control group. Health promotion lifestyle questionnaire was used for data gathering. The intervention included lifestyle education performed during 4 sessions. Before the intervention and 2 months after the last session the questionnaires were distributed among groups. The results were entered into 24th version of SPSS software. Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric test and Mann-Whitney test were used.
Results: The overall mean of the health-promoting lifestyle questionnaire in all three groups before the intervention was about 2.50. After the intervention, the points that were obtained in the two groups of teachers (3.24 ± 0.25) and mothers (3.05 ± 0.53) were higher than the control group (2.55 ± 0.43). (p≤0.05). In-group comparison, the difference between the scores obtained from the questionnaire and its 6 areas, before and after the intervention in the group of teachers and mothers, increased significantly. But in the control group, this difference was only found in the area of responsibility.
Conclusion: Health education through teachers is more effective than mothers. It seems that devoting a few minutes of class time to adolescents' health is useful, to have safe transition from adolescence to adulthood.

Key words: Adolescence, health promoting lifestyle, mothers, teachers.
