Level of satisfaction among patients receiving physiotherapy: a multicentre cross-sectional study from Pakistan

Abstract
Objective: To determine the level of satisfaction among patients receiving physiotherapy treatment in different settings in Karachi.
Methodology: This observational study included 369 patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria were selected from public and private hospitals of Karachi, Pakistan from November 2018 to February 2019. We used a self-administered questionnaire, the Med Risk Instrument based on 5 points Likert scale.
Results: Out of 369 patients, 260 (70.5%) were males. Mean age was 42.56±8.88 years. Only 91 (24.7%) were illiterate. Most were satisfied, as they found physiotherapy treatment helpful and would return to this office for future services or care. They were more satisfied with their physiotherapist behaviors. External sub scores with a mean of 4.707±0.668 showed that patients were relatively less satisfied with internal situations. The majority of the participants of public sector physiotherapy institutes were more satisfied as compared to private sector institutes.
Conclusion: Most of the patients were satisfied. Overall males were found to be more satisfied than females. However, patients of public sector hospitals were more satisfied as compared to the private sector.
