Abstract
Objective: To assess the coagulopathies at the time of diagnosis of Covid-19.
Methodology: This cross sectional retrospective study included 8000 patients from March 2020 to March 2021, out of them only 347 patients were analyzed in this study due to insufficient data. Descriptive statistics were summarized as percentages, means, and standard deviations. Paired t test for comparison between day 1 and day 7 of the admission.
Results: Out of 347 patients, 207 (59.6%) were male, and 140 (40.3%) females. The average age was 57 years; most (47%) belonged to senior age group. As opposed to other age groups, most of the elderly (61 to 90 years old) patients showed abnormal D dimer, PT, and INR. There was no difference in the admitted patient's D dimer on Days 1 and 7 (p=0.36, 95% CI = -0.07622-0.02774).
Conclusion: D-dimer and other coagulation markers were higher than normal at admission in adult COVID-19 patients. The assessment of these markers upon admission may be helpful in identifying risk and initiating testing for severe COVID-19 cases, leading to rapid COVID-19 therapy and the avoidance of mortality.

Key words: COVID-19, fibrin fragment D-dimer, International Normalize Ratio, Prothrombin time.
