Effects of using 10° corner shoe insoles on glycemia in patient with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at the Surabaya Association for Diabetes and healthy living in Indonesia

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the effect of using 100 angle insoles on blood sugar levels in diabetics.

Methodology: This Pre-experimental study included T2DM patients at the Surabaya Diabetes and Healthy Living Association (PDHS) who were not using insulin and were using shoe soles with a 100 angle of inclination in one month for at least 4 hours per day. The dependent variable was random blood sugar examinations. Statistical test used was Paired sample T test.

Results: Average blood sugar value before using shoes with a sole angle of 100 were 191.55±56.335 and after 145.50±36.989). Paired sample t-test showed a significant reduction in blood sugar levels (p<0.000) with sole angle of 100 in T2DM.

Conclusion: Regular use of 100 angle shoe insoles in T2DM sufferers can be used to complement self-management of diabetes at home to help them control blood sugar levels.
