Evaluating Capsaicin's anti-cancer potential: A diagnostic perspective in human cervical cancer cells

Abstract
Objective: To explore the anti-cancer potential of Capsaicin on Henrietta Lacks HeLa Human cervical cancer cell line.
Methodology: This in-vitro study was carried out from 12th December 2023 to 12th February 2024, translating lab results into IC50 (half-maximal inhibitory concentration) values depended on MTT assay outcomes for evaluating capsaicin concentration effects on HeLa cell lines while performing gene expression studies through RT-qPCR analysis of apoptotic mediator genes (Intrinsic Biomarkers Caspase)
Results: Using IC50 revealed capsaicin at 12.1 uM effectively induced pro-apoptotic biomarkers Caspase-3 and Caspase-9 in HeLa cells at relative gene expression levels of 11.2 and 12.9 respectively.
Conclusion: The data confirmed robust pro-apoptotic anti-cancer properties of capsaicin while indicating diagnostic uniqueness against HeLa cell lines. Future investigations need to discover the main pathways through which capsaicin fights cancer in HeLa cell lines.
