Abstract
Objective: To assess the treatment outcomes in adult patients diagnosed with tuberculous meningitis (TBM).
Methodology: This cross-sectional study, conducted at JPMC Karachi from Oct 2024 to March 2025, used purposive sampling. TBM was diagnosed via CSF analysis. Demographic and clinical data were collected and analyzed using SPSS v25, with chi-square tests applied (p≤0.05).
Results: In 132 TBM patients (mean age 36.2 years), most were in Stage 1 with common symptoms like headache and fever. Full recovery occurred in 74.8%, with 4.1% mortality and 10.6% paralysis. Liver dysfunction was the only side effect. Outcomes were significantly linked to age, gender, and GCS. No recurrences were observed.
Conclusion: Timely diagnosis and standard TBM treatment significantly improved recovery rates and minimized neurological complications.

Key words: Tuberculous meningitis TBM, clinical outcomes, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis.
