Abstract
Verruca vulgaris is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infections. Verruca in the external auditory canal (EAC) has rarely been reported. This is a case of verruca vulgaris in right external auditory canal that was successfully treated with surgical excision using local anaesthesia. A 40-year-old male patient presented with aural fullness and palpable lump in right EAC. His right EAC was filled with pinkish, papillomatous mass. Subsequently, a surgical excision was done and Verruca vulgaris was confirmed by skin biopsy. On further followup of this case, no recurrence was noted. This result indicates that surgical excision of the wart lesion is an effective treatment option of verruca vulgaris in a confined space such as the EAC.
