Mula Tarigan, Dinda Ayu Annisya, Dudut Tanjung, Ikhsanuddin Ahmad Harahap.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the self-care experiences of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) in Indonesia.
Methodology: This descriptive phenomenological study included ten participants selected through convenience sampling. The study was conducted from February to July 2021. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi’s phenomenological method.
Results: Five major themes emerged from the analysis: following a healthy lifestyle, recognizing the signs and symptoms, responses to the signs and symptoms, deciding to consume herbs, and willingness and expectation in implementing self-care.
Conclusion: The study’s findings underscore the importance of culturally sensitive nursing interventions in supporting effective self-care and informing the development of patient-centered strategies for managing coronary heart disease.

Key words: Coronary heart disease, self-care, phenomenology, qualitative, Indonesia.
